Mmm Llama Lager

Mmm Llama Lager

This is a link to the comic I made for 2011 Comic Con is San Diego.

Observations about this comic: (reader beware)

  • It’s mainly inside jokes
  • I have terrible Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Yeah I know, it’s really nerdy

Enjoy!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The NHL playoffs start and I can’t wait to see Chicago take Vancouver down for a 3rd time.

Fear the dagger..the Chelsea Dagger!

I finally finished reading “The Quants: How a New Breed of Math Whizzes Conquered Wall Street and Nearly Destroyed It” by Scott Patterson. It made an extremely complex idea easy to understand. I really appreciated that about the book. The one suprise I found was the multiple mentions of Benoit Mandelbrot, mathematician and my own personal hero. He warned that reality is not easily predicatble.

If you want insight into what happened to our economy, this is a great book to pick up. Two thumbs up from me.

I was reading a really interesting article in Scientific American called “Genetics in the Gut: Intestinal Microbes Could Drive Obesity and Other Health Issues” and they pointed out a fact that is common knowledge, but I never really thought about. Microbes outnumber our human cells by ten to one.  It makes me start to wonder, are human bodies just hosts for colonies of microbes?  Are the emerging complexities of microbiota what we call consciousness? Am I really me?
